

Ever since the Roman Emperors escaped an overheated Rome by building "pleasure palaces" around the Bay of Naples (Pompeii and Herculaneum), the idea of a vacation has been around. Back then, Roman travel agents urged their countrymen to "See Naples and Die". Rather prophetic in light of Vesuvius, but "See Naples and Die" was in fact an advertisement for travellers to visit the city on the bay and then stop over at the nearby town of Mori ("die" in Latin) for even more fun!
